2/23/23 City Discontinues Use of Nixle Alerts

coming soon

Beginning Saturday, February 25th, City of Fairbanks departments,  including Fairbanks Police Department, will no longer be using Nixle for sending emergency alerts. The City has entered into a contract for a new alerting service. The new service is free to residents and allows individuals to sign up for notifications sent from local public safety authorities. The purpose of the new alerting service is to keep residents and visitors informed on urgent situations involving public safety. Alerts may include information about missing persons, traffic hazards, and other emergencies.

Individuals who were previously signed up for Nixle will not be automatically enrolled in the new alerting service and will need to sign up. Instructions on how to sign up will be announced when the new service is launched in mid-March. Residents will be able to find information here on the City of Fairbanks website when registration is available.
