FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Police Chief Resignation

This morning, Chief Nancy Reeder resigned from her position with Fairbanks Police Department for personal reasons. Chief Reeder has been serving with the Fairbanks Police Department since June of 2019.

Acting Deputy Chief Rick Sweet has temporarily been appointed Acting Chief and we are confident that FPD will move forward in a positive direction during this transition. Sweet has been serving with Fairbanks Police Department since 2012.

We would like to thank Nancy for her service in law enforcement and wish her well with all her future endeavors.
