Kids to Parks Day
May 21st, 2016
Mayor Eberhart has issued a Proclamation supporting the national Kids to Parks Day. This is the sixth Kids to Parks Day organized and launched by the National Park Trust. The Proclamation encourages families and kids to get outdoors and enjoy America’s parks. The day is intended to promote healthy outdoor activities, lead to more active lifestyles, combat childhood obesity, diabetes, and hypertension. It is also meant to broaden children’s appreciation for nature and the outdoors. The Mayor urges residents of Fairbanks to make time to take children to a neighborhood, state, or national park, not just on May 21st, but throughout the year. Enjoy the outdoors of our beautiful Golden Heart City and State.
