10/11/19 - FFD Employees Honored

FFD

This past Tuesday, several Fairbanks Fire Department employees were recognized for the life-saving actions they took during a recent emergency.

While assisting a patient on a medical call, a woman pulled up to the scene and frantically approached FFD personnel screaming that her baby was having a seizure and was not breathing. FFD personnel immediately attended to the child, who was transported to the emergency room. In a letter of appreciation from the mother, she stated that there was “not one second of hesitation” from the FFD crew as they pulled the baby out of the car and began life-saving measures. She also praised them for keeping her as calm as possible and making sure she could stay right beside her son the entire time.

The child was treated and made a full recovery.

Thank you, Jen Winkler, Russell Dennis, Mac Lee, and Jacob Stoddard for your exemplary service and dedication to the residents of our community.

We know this is just one example of the many instances our firefighters, paramedics, police officers, and dispatchers save lives every day in Fairbanks. Thank you to ALL of our city’s first responders that serve this community!
