10/01/20 Fairbanks Fire Welcomes New Platform

Fire Truck

Fairbanks Fire Department is happy to announce the arrival of our new truck, a 2020 Rosenbauer Cobra Aerial Platform!

A few quick facts about our new rig... it has a 104-foot ladder with a basket that is rated to hold 1,000 pounds inside.  It is equipped to pump up to 2,000 gallons per minute of water for fighting fires. The new platform was built to Fairbanks Fire Department’s specifications and comes all the way from the Rosenbauer plant in South Dakota. It was purchased with the help of a Community Development Block Grant from HUD which covered over half of the costs!

Thank you to our Alaska dealer, General Fire Apparatus, for helping us through this process. The new platform will be our front-line truck, our truck purchased in 2007 will go into reserve status, and our 1995 unit can now retire for good.

We are so pleased with this new apparatus; we constantly strive to have everything we need to best serve the Fairbanks community!
