SUBJECT: Structure Fire – 33 Timberland Drive
For Immediate Release - Fairbanks, AK:
This morning, at approximately 8:40am, the Fairbanks Emergency Communication Center (FECC) received several 911 calls from citizens reporting a house on fire at 33 Timberland Drive. Fairbanks Fire Department crews arrived within 5 minutes and found an abandoned two-story structure with fire visible through the roof. Crews had the fire under control in 11 minutes in the -27(F) temperatures. University Fire Department and Ft. Wainwright Fire Department both provided mutual aid.
FFD was notified by law enforcement that the structure is known to be frequently used by transient individuals. Nobody was found in the structure and no injuries were reported. An investigation into the fire is being conducted and anyone with information should contact Deputy Fire Marshal Moira O’Bryant at 907-450-6614 or mobryant@fairbanks.us.
