Unlike many of our first responders, our dispatchers rarely get a chance to meet people whose lives they helped save. Fairbanks Emergency Communication Center Dispatcher Jacob Teague got that opportunity today at the Go Red For Women Conference. Hear about it in Jacob’s own words:

“On December 15th I took a 911 call from a daughter who witnessed her dad collapse. We immediately started CPR. Her boyfriend and mom assisted in giving him quality CPR until the amazing paramedics from UAF arrived to take over. The Alaska State Troopers arrived on scene shortly after to assist, as well. Jon, pictured in the middle, lived after being shocked 3 times and undergoing 60minutes of CPR at home, in the ambulance, and at the hospital. Today, I got to meet the family and the responder from UAF who assisted in making sure that this family has time together still. What an amazing and rewarding experience to be able to meet and be a part of the huge team of people it takes to accomplish emergency medical treatment. I’m so proud to be a part of this story, and beyond happy that Jon is still around. Nothing but love on that stage all around.”

Thank you, Jacob, and thanks to all of our first responders across Fairbanks agencies that make a great team!
