The City of Fairbanks is happy to announce that our Fairbanks Emergency Communication Center is the proud recipient of the 2021 RAVE Mobile Safety SmartSave Award! This is an annual recognition given to customers and partners of Rave technology to honor their innovation in 9-1-1 emergency communications. The awards were announced as part of Rave’s annual summit, which took place September 21-23, 2021.

The Rave Mobile Safety SmartSave Award recognizes customers’ efforts to incorporate lifesaving technologies into their 9-1-1 emergency communication operations for their communities, using solutions like the Rave 911 Suite, Rave Panic Button, Rave Alert and Rave Guardian to positively impact emergency calls and response. These tools expedite response, better inform first responders, and result in more positive outcomes for everyone involved in an emergency situation.

FECC was recognized specifically for its use of Text-to-911 technology, as well mass emergency notifications through reverse 911 calls made with the RAVE/Smart 911 program.

“We have had several emergencies and critical incidents over the last few years in which our dispatchers have utilized Rave technology,” said Kristi Merideth, Dispatch Manager. “We are proud to have received recognition for our commitment to incorporating new technologies into our dispatch center in order to make precious minutes count and help our community be a safer place.”

In addition to staying on the cutting-edge of emergency communication technology, FECC continues to have some of the hardest working public safety dispatchers in the nation, and the hard work of these first responders is greatly appreciated.
