On March 10, 2014 the Fairbanks City Council adopted Ordinance No. 5939 creating a Fairbanks Diversity Council (FDC). Mayor Eberhart invites you to serve our community by applying for a seat on this commission.
The purpose of the FDC is to provide a citizens’ forum to the City Council and the Borough Assembly, provide advice and recommendations to promote equal opportunity for all members of the public, serve as a diversity advisory board, and recommend adoption of a Diversity Action Plan. The FDC will consist of 15 voting members, 12 of which will be appointed by the City Mayor and subject to approval by the City Council. Eight of those 12 members must be residents of the City of Fairbanks. Three of the voting members will be appointed by the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) Mayor, subject to confirmation by the Borough Assembly.
