Fairbanks Diversity Council

On March 10 2014, the Fairbanks City Council adopted Ordinance No. 5939, as Amended, creating a Fairbanks Diversity Council (FDC).  The purpose of the FDC is to provide a citizens’ forum, serve as a diversity advisory board and recommend adoption of a Diversity Action Plan for the community.

The FDC will consist of 15 voting members, 12 of which will be appointed by the City Mayor and subject to approval by the City Council.  Eight of those 12 members must be residents of the City of Fairbanks.  Three of the voting members will be appointed by the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) Mayor, subject to confirmation by the Borough Assembly.
