The City of Fairbanks is installing traffic calming measures in the Island Homes subdivision during the 2011 construction season. The purpose of the project is to slow traffic to increase safety for children and pedestrians in response to concerns raised by the subdivisions’ residents. The proposed traffic calming measures would include installation of speed humps throughout the subdivision.
Included below is a plan view of the subdivision showing the proposed locations of the speed humps, as well as typical details for the device.
